Readiness Index
One number, out of 100, that summarises whether your household is ready for the day something goes wrong. Once you sign in, your Readiness Index becomes live: it recalculates automatically each time you add a fund, upload a document, nominate a household contact, or renew a BDBN — so the score always reflects what STEADCALM actually holds on your behalf.
How it's calculated
- 40 pts · BDBN validity — one per fund, weighted by likely death-benefit value.
- 30 pts · Core documents in the Vault — will, EPOA, advance care directive, ID copies, super statements and insurance policies.
- 20 pts · Inner circle — do the right people have the right access?
- 10 pts · Emergency contacts & Medical ID — first responders and family reachable in one tap.
Live and automatic once you sign in
Your dashboard shows the same Readiness Index at the top of every page. Upload a signed BDBN and the BDBN component of the score updates within seconds. Add a super fund, complete your emergency contact, upload your will to the Vault, or verify a household member — each action moves the score. There's nothing to recalculate manually and nothing to publish; the number you see is the number STEADCALM would use if we had to hand your file to your solicitor tomorrow.
What the numbers mean
- 0–39 — your family is likely to face months of paperwork if today's the day.
- 40–69 — you're partway there. The BDBN is usually where the biggest wins live.
- 70–89 — solid. Small gaps in coverage or aged nominations.
- 90–100 — genuinely rare. Estate-ready in every meaningful sense.
